Two transportation options exist to reach the city from Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). First, airport trains can be booked through the “KA Bandara” mobile app by choosing YIA to Yogyakarta Station. One ticket costs around 20.000 IDR to 50.000 IDR, or you can buy on the spot as long as the ticket is available. The next alternative is the Airport shuttle, popularly called DAMRI. Ticket prices are around 70.000 IDR to 100.000 IDR, and will be pulled down in various spots in Yogyakarta City. Duration from YIA to Yogyakarta will be 1.30 hours by DAMRI and 45 minutes by airport train. Online transportation such as Gojek or Grab are reliable alternatives, costing 300.000 IDR for one trip.
